Rewriting Student Voice

Lensmire, Timothy J. (May 1998) Rewriting Student Voice. Journal of Curriculum Studies. 30(3). 261-291.

Annotation by Melissa Han

Lensmire addresses student voice as a form of individual expression and participation. Student voice in the form of individual expression is typically referred to in writing. Whereas student voice in the form of participation is the dialogue among teachers and students. This article seeks to address the strengths and weaknesses in the two models of student voice aforementioned.

Melissa! I'm so excited that you came across this article. I met Tim Lensmire when I was in Minnesota (he works at the UofM) and he is a great guy who does really great work. He could be a fantastic Living Resource for you, and would surely be able to point you in some cool directions and offer other resources!
