Underwood, Terry. (1998) Teaching Writing with Reflective Questions and Reflective Events. Clearing House. 72(1). 18-23.
Annotation by Melissa Han
Underwood states that although reflection in writing can be done in isolation, enhanced learning happens when one expresses and explains oneself to others. Educators can create reflective opportunities by asking students to respond to reflective questions and create reflective events that draw on pieces of writing done over time.
